Treo blogging from Natchez, Mississippi

The weather turned awful this afternoon., heavy rain and thunderstorms, so I changed course and decided to postpone my trip to the Vicksburg Battlefield to tomorrow. Although the weather forecast is a little dicey--scattered thunderstorms--they were anything but scattered this afternoon--which would have made a battlefield visit a nightmare. Although in 1863, soldiers for the Union and the Confederacy had more dire things to contend with than rain.

The storm subsided just as I reached Natchez...a beautiful city, with a few rough patches that will hopefully be fixed up.
